Protein expression - AMY1A

High magnification of pancreas showing the expression of amylase (AMY1A) in the exocrine compartment of pancreas. Cytoplasmic expression is most pronounced in the acinar cells of exocrine glands in pancreas. (weak and unspecific staining is seen in the endocrine compartment comprising islets of Langerhans)

Amylase (AMY1A) - Marker for salivary gland and pancreas

Amylases are a group of enzymes that catalyze dietary starch into glycogen. There are several human amylase genes, and multiple splice forms. A common feature is that are all highly expressed in the salivary gland and/or pancreas.
Show AMY1A in the protein atlas.
